![]() It is pretty narrow minded to tell someone that something is not needed simply because you personally don't have a use for it. Not to mention the PITA is was to get the NIC driver downloaded and installed.Īnd yes I know that I can use the Dell express service code to filter the driver list, however even with that, there are usually 2 or 3 different possible drivers depending on the specific device you ordered in your PC. The only way to get these drivers was to identify the ID of the Hardware, google what the HW was, then go to Dell's website and download the correct driver manually. And there were numerous drivers that Windows/MS could not identify. I recently re-installed a 1 year old Dell from scratch, without using the recovery partition (didn't want all the bloatware). My experience would tell me this is not the case. Reason: Microsoft has not any signed driver for it, therefore nobody has a signed driver for it. I'm going to see if it's possible to make Driver Genius portable using Cameyo. I just don't want to install it to be able to run it once. I generally take the 'If it ain't broke.' approach and, as I said, don't use any scheduled scan or see any point in taking an automated approach to updating drivers, but used intelligently and with due caution a good driver scanner is a valuable addition to any tool kit. ![]() I've subsequently learned how to use the information in the properties of the device that's not working to identify it, but it's still much easier to use the utility. I spent a whole afternoon trying to fix the problem before giving up and buying a licence for Driver Genius which fixed the problem in minutes (it turned out to be an Intel ME driver). ![]() I used to take the same view until I was faced with a PC with one of those little yellow warning triangles in Device Manager and no idea which device was causing the problem. Some cables, however, are better than others.Well, you're clearly not 'missing' anything if you've never had a problem solved by a driver utility. You might think that jumper cables are all the same, and to an extent, that’s true-they’re copper wires that deliver power. Jumper cables are a vital part of any jump starter. A battery charger is better if you have access to a power outlet and have enough time to charge the battery, while a jump starter is better in a pinch for those who need to get on the road right away. Our recommendation? Having both a jump starter and a battery charger can be helpful. Plus, they can come to the rescue if you have a faulty alternator, as they can allow you to get your car up and running without having to worry about your alternator recharging your battery. They also have to plug into a power outlet, which is less portable. Battery chargers take at least a few hours to recharge a car battery, which is not ideal for those needing to get on the road quickly. Unlike a jump starter, a charger recharges your car's battery, which is handy in some situations. Lifewire / Tony Mitera What About a Battery Charger? The portability outweighs the downside of having to keep the device charged up. We generally recommend buying a portable jump starter over a plug-in one. Instead of having a decent-sized battery built-in, you have to connect them to a power outlet-meaning that if you’re in a parking lot with a dead battery, you’re out of luck. Plug-in chargers, on the other hand, are much less portable. The only downside is that you must charge them after use, which can take several hours. Portable jump starters have a built-in battery, meaning they can be used on the go whenever you need them.Jump starters come in both portable and plug-in varieties: Do you have a big truck or a smaller car? Do you have a fleet of vehicles to maintain? Do you have storage in the car or your garage? Where will you most likely need the jump starter: At your home base or on the road? How much space do you have to dedicate to a device you hopefully will never need? There are a few factors to consider when picking a jump starter. Always ready to adapt to new customer demands, during World War II, Drexel built a sturdy desk designed especially for General Douglas MacArthur. Others replicated the ornate details of 18th-century chinoiserie or the embellishments of Queen Anne furniture. This included making pieces inspired by historic European furniture, like the popular French Provincial–style Touraine bedroom and dining group that borrowed its curves from Louis XV-era furniture. Although the company's new look and lines fit more with the style of many modern and minimalistic interiors, vintage Drexel Heritage Furniture remains popular today as well. The company aimed to modernize the designs and supply them to the younger modern generation. The company renamed Drexel Furniture, and dropped the "Heritage". This included selling the company to an LLC group and also rebranding. With the beginning of the new Millenium, the company started to struggle, and in the first two decades of the 2000s, several attempts were made to rescue the company.
